US hosts major trade pact meeting

The United States is scheduled to host a high-level meeting of trade officials from a proposed Asia-Pacific trade bloc from tomorrow till Friday in Maui, Hawaii, according to the US Trade Representative's office. Analysts said the meeting of the Trans-Pacific Partnership, which covers 40 percent of the global economy, is likely to mark the final stage in negotiations for the trade pact.
