Deutsche Post DHL Group, the German mail and logistics giant, said it is well on its way to implementing a large fleet of electric vehicles to reduce its carbon footprint.
The company has been running systematic testing of more than 300 electric vehicles and 9,000 electric bikes and trikes in Germany and hopes to add an additional 600 electric vehicles this year.
The group is aiming to first achieve carbon-free delivery by 2016 in Bonn, where it is headquartered, by switching its entire delivery fleet to electric vehicles.
