Fruit donated by alleged thief

A suspected thief in Dezhou donated boxes of fruit he allegedly stole from a fruit shop to a child welfare home. The man, surnamed Li, is alleged to have stolen 20 boxes of fruit from a shop in Zaoqiang county, Hebei province. He donated 10 boxes of the produce to a child welfare home in neighboring Dezhou, Shandong province. Li, who was detained by police, said he was an orphan brought up in a welfare home and was trying to repay the kindness he had received.
