Mercedes-AMG welcomes Chinese auto enthusiasts to driving academy
Mercedes-AMG held its AMG Driving Academy at the Zhuhai International Circuit in Guangdong province from July 6 to 13.
As one of the most important platforms for the AMG brand in China, the AMG Driving Academy brings AMG owners and sports car enthusiasts a range of comprehensive and multifaceted driving experiences led by a team of highly experienced professional and international instructors.
"Led by our commitment to 'Driving Performance', our world-renowned AMG Driving Academy and its outstanding curriculum continue bringing Chinese consumers a truly white-knuckle racetrack experience. The AMG Driving Academy will move to Shanghai in August.
Changan Ford extends warranty on transmission control modules
Ford China announced on Monday that Changan Ford Automobile Co, a joint venture between Ford Motors and China's Changan Automobile Co, will extend a warranty on control modules for its six-speed, dual-clutch transmission from July 13.
The warranty will be extended to 10 years or 240,000 km. The affected models include the 2012 to 2015 editions of the Focus, Fiesta and Ecosport.
The company said all of the affected models will be covered by the new warranty. The company will also reimburse customers who have already paid for the cost of repairs.
Controversial taxi-calling app launches shuttle bus service in two cities' suburbs
Controversial driver and taxi-calling app DiDi Dache Taxi announced its foray into the shuttle bus sector with 33 routes in Beijing and 10 routes in Shenzhen opened last week.
A shuttle bus app operated by the firm was launched and it announced it plans to open up to 100 routes by the end of this month. Most of the routes cover suburban areas where normal public buses offer limited services.
Currently, the shuttle bus service charges passengers 0.01 yuan ($0.002) for each ride, with fares expected to rise to 7 to 13 yuan in the near future, about three to five times the cost of a normal bus ticket.
Some other apps have also announced plans to start running bus services in Beijing soon.
