The Internet Society of China and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology jointly released a list of the top 100 Internet companies in China on Wednesday. Here are the top 5 on the list.
1. Alibaba Group
Based in Hangzhou, Alibaba owns China's largest consumer-to-consumer online shopping platform, Taobao. The company, founded by Ma Yun (above), made its initial public offering on the New York Stock Exchange in September.
