Parking fees lifted on e-vehicles

Electric vehicles in the Chinese capital will soon be exempt from parking fees and tolls in a bid to encourage low carbon transportation, the Beijing Morning Post reported on Thursday. Previous incentive measures are credited with pushing the number of electric vehicle registrations to 5,091 in the first half of this year, according to official statistics. Of those, nearly 2,000 were registered in June alone, almost double the number in the previous month.
