US firm launches talent cultivation program
As the entrepreneurial and innovative flame burns bright in China, United Technologies Corp, the United States' multinational high-tech conglomerate, is deploying more resources and manpower from China's top-tier cities to rural areas to promote talent cultivation and technological innovation through its designed programs.
United Technologies is hoping to inspire more Chinese youth to embrace science through its STEM program, a curriculum based on the idea of educating students in four specific disciplines - science, technology, engineering and mathematics, in an interdisciplinary and applied approach.
Rather than teaching the four disciplines as separate subjects, the program integrates them into a cohesive learning paradigm based on real-world applications.
