Business: Most competitive cities in Belt and Road Initiative

Xi'an, capital of Shaanxi province, has been ranked as the most competitive Chinese city in implementing the Belt and Road Initiative, which involves transport infrastructure projects linking Asia and Europe. The rankings were based on a survey carried out in June by the Hong Kong-based China Institute of City Competitiveness. The initiative accounts for an aggregate gross domestic product of $21 trillion, or 29 percent of the world's GDP, and involves 65 countries with a total population of 4.4 billion.
