1. Journey to the West
This drama was adapted from the Chinese novel Journey to the West, one of the four great classics of Chinese literature. It features the legendary pilgrimage of monk Xuanzang in the Tang Dynasty (AD 618-907) as he traveled to the "Western Regions" in today's India to obtain sutras. The Monkey King, one of his apprentices, is a very popular figure among children.
