Cummins marks 40th year in China with green efforts

Cummins Inc, the United States engine maker, is expanding its work in China dedicated to promoting and developing green and power-efficient technologies.

Included in its plans are the building of a new research center, and an accompanying production site in Chongqing municipality, which will be capable of producing some of the most high-powered yet efficient engines available in the country, said Tom Linebarger, its chairman.

Construction of the research building should be complete by the end of next year, with the factory ready two years later.
