ZTE system to combat theft of Ugandan babies from hospital
ZTE Corporation, the Chinese technology giant, is installing a new security system, free of charge, in maternity wards in Uganda's biggest hospital to prevent the stealing of newborn babies. Parliament Speaker Rebecca Kadaga said the new surveillance cameras being installed at Mulago National Referral Hospital will be critical in stopping a crime that has been rising in recent years. "We now need to track activities in our wards to prevent the stealing," she said. ZTE has worked closely with the Ugandan government in developing the system said Kadaga, who thanked the Chinese company for "supporting mothers across this country".
