Mainland bourses cut stock transaction costs

The bourses on the Chinese mainland announced on Wednesday night that they will lower fees for A-share transactions by 30 percent and transfer fees by 33 percent to cut costs for investors. The new charges will take effect starting Aug 1. Currently, a transaction fee of about 0.007 percent of the total stock transaction value is charged. The Shanghai Stock Exchange also charges 0.03 percent of the stock transaction value as a transfer fee, and the Shenzhen bourse charges 0.0025 percent.
