Demba breaks the bank with Shanghai

Former Chelsea forward Demba Ba has signed for Didier Drogba's old club Shanghai Shenhua in a deal reported on Sunday to be a "possible" record for the Chinese Super League.

Ba, a Senegal international, is reported to have signed a three-year deal worth $17.9 million, Xinhua said on its website, after the Shanghai club confirmed the 30-year-old would be joining it.
