Ice hockey player makes history for China

Song Andong has become the first Chinese-born player to be selected in the National Hockey League draft - a showcase for the best young amateurs from leagues in North America and Europe.

Song, 18, was selected by the New York Islanders in the sixth round - No 172 overall - at the NHL Draft in Sunrise, Florida, on Saturday.

The Islanders are owned by Shanghai-born businessman Charles Wang.
