The widow of Republic of Korea president Kim Dae-jung will visit the Democratic People's Republic of Korea as early as July and possibly meet DPRK top leader Kim Jong-un.
Unification Ministry spokesman Lim Byeong-cheol told a media briefing on Friday that the Kim Dae-jung Peace Center had submitted an application earlier in the day for approval of the visits by the center officials to Kaesong to discuss schedules for Lee Hee-ho's travel to the DPRK.
The center was quoted by Yonhap News Agency as saying that the DPRK has proposed a meeting on Tuesday in its border town of Kaesong to talk about Lee's trip.
