Street dancing has always been a way for young people to show their personal style. When China started its reform and opening-up programs in the 1980s, disco and ballroom dance were seen as rebellious. In the photo, young people practice their dance skills in a quiet corner of Beijing's Badachu Park in 1980. Today, dance has become a national pastime for both young and old alike, and numerous styles have flourished.
