Husband gets life for killing rapist

A husband who killed a colleague nine years ago after seeing the man rape his wife has been sentenced to life in prison. The husband, surnamed Tian, and his wife moved to Wenzhou in 2006 after he found a job at a car shop. One day in 2006, Tian returned to the dormitory where the couple lived and killed the other man after witnessing the rape. The couple then left the city. Tian surrendered to police last year and was recently sentenced by a Wenzhou court. The case has proved controversial among netizens, prompting questions about whether the sentence was too severe.
