Guiyang will host 'a call to action' to fight climate change

The upcoming Eco-Forum Global Annual Conference to be held in Guiyang is expected to promote China's role in international cooperation in tackling climate change, a top official of Guizhou province said.

"Hosting the forum this year is a move to present China's call to action regarding climate change and intensify China's participation in global cooperation in this field," said Chen Yiqin, deputy Party chief of Guizhou province, at a news conference on Friday. "The forum will be a platform for China to show its stance on the issue."

The forum, held annually since 2009, is the only major international conference in China to discuss the development of an ecological society.
