Lottery fund tops 100 billion yuan

The lottery welfare fund in China broke the 100 billion yuan ($16.3 billion) barrier for the first time last year, hitting 104 billion yuan in value, according to the Blue Book on Charity: China Charity Development Report. Sales of China's welfare and sports lotteries totaled 382.4 billion yuan during the year. The report was published jointly by the policy research center at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and Social Sciences Academic Press.
