By Zheng Caixiong in Guangzhou | China Daily | Updated: 2015-06-17 07:49

Employers will be required to pay workers who receive monthly wages by the 10th of the following month under a draft law being considered in Guangdong province.

The provincial Department of Human Resources and Social Security is seeking the public's thoughts on the proposal.

Under the Rules on the Payment of Wages in Guangdong, employers who have not paid by the 10th day would be regarded as being in default and be fined of up to 200,000 yuan ($32,200).
