Lower car insurance premiums after reform

About 80 percent of the vehicle owners in China are paying lower premiums, after the market-driven reform for commercial car insurance was launched in six provinces and cities this month, the China Insurance Regulatory Commission said on Monday. The scheme, which removed the fixed premium and allowed insurers to independently set their own fees, will be expanded nationwide next year if the pilot program runs smoothly.
