Court blames teen for hurting himself

A 14-year-old student at a junior high school in Shunde who was disabled after jumping from the third floor of a classroom building is mostly responsible for the outcome, a Foshan court ruled. The incident took place in April 2013 after the student was accused by his teacher of stealing money. The school has paid 208,000 yuan ($33,520) for the student's medical treatment. Later the student's parents brought a lawsuit against the school for more. The court's final judgment said the student should take most of the blame for his disabilities - 70 percent - with the school liable for 30 percent.
