Senior executive investigated

Hao Gui, vice-chairman of China Shenhua Energy Company, has been placed under investigation by prosecutors, according to a statement posted on the Shanghai Stock Exchange's website on Sunday. The company's business operations were not affected and operated normally, the statement said. Hao obtained a doctoral degree in mineralogy at China University of Mining and Technology and has worked in the coal industry for more than 20 years.
