CTBC Shanghai Ladies Classic to strengthen cross-Straits ties

The China LPGA Tour will take another important step in its history this week when it hosts the 800,000-yuan CTBC Shanghai Ladies Classic from June 12-14.

It marks the first time an event will feature a full complement of Chinese-Taipei players competing in Chinese mainland.

With the tournament co-sponsored by the China LPGA Tour and the Taiwan LPGA Tour, the event follows up on last September's CTBC Ladies Open in Taipei when Chinese mainland players competed there for the first time.
