Despite a lack of Chinese players in the NBA, the league continues to put a premium on building an even stronger fan base in the world's most populous nation.
To promote the NBA Finals, Minnesota Timberwolves guard and reigning NBA slam dunk champ Zach LaVine is visiting China from June 3-8. He will provide commentary on the championship showdown between the Golden State Warriors and the Cleveland Cavaliers during a special halftime show of Friday's live broadcast (Beijing time) of Game 1 on CCTV-5.
LaVine will also host an NBA Fan Day and a viewing party, conduct a basketball clinic and participate in a special meet-and-greet with fans in Beijing and Shanghai.
