Item from June 4, 1992, in China Daily: Construction of a sewage processing plant is in full swing in Gaobeidian in eastern Beijing.

When completed by the end of next year, the plant will have a daily processing output of 1 million cubic meters of wastewater and greatly improve the city's environment and its bid for hosting the Olympics in the year 2000.

The capital has been speeding up construction of wastewater treatment facilities in recent years, with the aim of increasing its daily wastewater processing capacity by more than 2 million cubic meters by the end of this year.
