Ministry responds to cyberattack report

If foreign hacking organization OceanLotus has stolen government information, this will be further evidence that China is vulnerable to cyberattacks, Hua Chunying, a spokeswoman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said on Tuesday. Hua's comment came after a report was released on Friday by Chinese Internet company Qihoo 360's SkyEye Labs that accused OceanLotus of launching "elaborately organized" online attacks on China's marine agencies, scientific research institutions and shipping companies since April 2012.
