Ex-official faces bribery charge

Wei Pengyuan, an official found to have stored more than 200 million yuan ($32.3 million) in cash at his house, has been indicted on a charge of bribery, the Supreme People's Procuratorate said on Monday. Wei, former deputy head of the Coal Department at the National Energy Administration, was indicted by prosecutors in Hebei province. He was also charged with amassing a huge income from unclear sources.
