American player Taylor Townsend recounted her first experience of staying in budget accommodation in Manhattan.

"The guy greeted us and he had no shoes on. I was like, 'Oh, my God!' Then he told us when we were in the elevator, 'I hope you like cats.' We're like, yeah, cats are fine. He was like, 'You can't let down the toilet seat because the cat uses the toilet.' So we were like, ha ha, no. We were leaving. I think hotels are safer."
