Better services, not high prices, needed at nation's tourist sites
The China National Tourism Administration recently published a list of "tourist sites with trustable prices" on its website. The list, which contains all 1,801 applicant tourist sites, has been widely criticized for lack of transparency as well as being contrary to the general feeling of tourists. Comments:
The majority of domestic tourist sites rely on natural scenery to attract tourists, so they should shoulder some social responsibility instead of charging too high prices for their tickets. As the top authority in the industry, the CNTA needs to pressure and encourage tourist sites nationwide to change, but in reality it is doing the contrary by supporting their high prices with State credit. This is absurd and the CNTA has failed in its duty to protect tourists.
