Talks aim to upgrade free trade agreement

By Zhong Nan | China Daily | Updated: 2015-05-27 07:31

A series of free trade agreements, including e-commerce, government purchases and zero tariffs on the entire range of products, will be enforced and upgraded between China and Chile.

Chilean Ambassador to China Jorge Heine said the free trade agreement talks will cover several new areas such as e-commerce, government purchases and financial services during Premier Li Keqiang's visit to Chile on the final leg of his Latin America tour, which ended on Tuesday.

"As more Chinese consumers prefer purchasing things online, reaching an agreement with China on e-commerce is important to Chile because it would like to see more of the dynamism of e-commerce in China," the ambassador said.
