New arrival
The all new Mercedes-AMG GT
The China launch for the Mercedes-AMG GT and the AMG Driving Performance Award Ceremony 2015 were held at the Shanghai International Circuit, a motorsports race track, last week.
The Mercedes-AMG GT, which has a manufacturer's suggested retail price of 1,688,000 yuan ($272,040), features a gorgeous exterior, high-performance racing technology, optimized weight distribution and exceptional daily functionality. It meets all expectations for a pure Mercedes-AMG sports car.
The AMG Driving Performance Award Competition concluded with a ceremony that celebrated Mercedes' AMG models, led by the Mercedes-AMG GT S.
The Mercedes-AMG GT S launched in China is the official safety car for the 2015 Formula One season. By blending performance with design, it continues and elevates the AMG brand's S-Model strategy for the ultimate vehicle.
The Mercedes-AMG GT S' exceptional power, which continues the company's tradition of "one man, one engine", is highlighted by the 4.0-liter V8 biturbo engine, which boasts power outputs of up to 375 kilowatts (510 horsepower) and peak torque of 650 newton meters. It responds instantly and delivers an outstanding performance.
It utilizes the efficiency, shift speed and precision of the AMG Speedshift DCT 7-speed sports transmission and features 0-100 kilometers an hour acceleration in just 3.8 seconds and a top speed of 310 km/h, bringing driving pleasure beyond expectation.
As the world's first sports car engine with a "hot inside V" configuration and dry sump lubrication, the 4.0-liter V8 biturbo engine has a more compact engine design, an optimum response from the turbochargers, low exhaust gas emissions and a low center of gravity paired with a balanced weight distribution of 47:53 (front to rear), setting a new technological benchmark.
The driver may select from among the C (comfort), S (sport), S+ (sport plus) and I (individual) driving modes. The manual "race" drive program reserved exclusively for the GT S optimally adjusts the shift strategy of the dual clutch transmission to the needs of racetrack usage.
