Holiday declared to mark V-Day

China has announced a national holiday on Sept 3 for celebrations marking the 70th anniversary of victory in World War II. A brief statement on the central government website on Wednesday said the decision is aimed at allowing people nationwide to take part in activities commemorating China's victory in the War against Japanese Aggression (1937-45) and victory in the World Anti-Fascist War.
