Bayern comes up short once more

By Agence France-Presse in Berlin | China Daily | Updated: 2015-05-11 07:39

Bayern Munich suffered its fourth straight defeat by losing 1-0 to Augsburg on Saturday ahead of a crucial Champions League semi-final second-leg against Barcelona. Augsburg's Paraguay striker Raul Bobadilla followed Barcelona's Lionel Messi by inflicting more misery on Bundesliga champion Bayern by scoring in the 71st minute. Bayern hosts Barca in Tuesday's home semifinal facing an uphill task after being routed 3-0 in Spain, when Messi scored twice. That followed losses to Borussia Dortmund in the German Cup semifinal and at Bayer Leverkusen in a Bundesliga clash.

"It's not easy, after the defeat to Barcelona, to play 80 minutes with a man down," said Bayern coach Pep Guardiola, who is missing injured wingers Franck Ribery and Arjen Robben.

"We haven't got any more wingers, so our wingbacks have to attack as well."
