Progress made in protecting nationals overseas

China Daily | Updated: 2015-04-29 07:39

AFTER A MASSIVE EARTHQUAKE HIT NEPAL on Saturday, claiming thousands of lives, China arranged emergency flights to help rescue tourists trapped in the country. The air force also said it would send four transporters to help the quake survivors. Comments:

As an increasing number of Chinese people are traveling abroad to work, study or enjoy vacations, the State is paying greater attention to their safety and security. In case of disasters, the government promptly arranges to send aid. From Libya on the brink of civil war in 2011 to the Yemen conflict earlier this year to quake-hit Nepal now, China has always helped its nationals overseas. This indicates an upgrade in China's national security strategy.
