7 dead, 1 missing in coal mine blast

Seven workers were killed and one person was missing after a gas explosion in a coal mine in Fulu, a town in Leshan, on Monday, local authorities said. The mine was undergoing a safety overhaul when the blast occurred. Six people, including the mine's owner, were detained by police, according to the city government. The licensed mine had an annual capacity of 90,000 tons.
