Item from April 27, 1985, in China Daily: Officers and soldiers of the People's Liberation Army are to get new uniforms from May 1 onwards.
Uniforms for naval, air force and army officers will have epaulettes. The new outfits are said to be practical and imposing.
The uniforms of the People's Liberation Army have gone through a series of redesigns since 1949.
