A visit from north to south: times are changing

Xiamen greets me with humid, warm air in the late spring, refreshing me from weeks of traveling.

It is Premier Li Keqiang's second trip in two weeks, following a visit to Jilin-a heavy industry base in the northeast which is now suffering from old-fashioned economic patterns.

In between the two visits, Li held a seminar with economists and corporate leaders, approved the construction of two nuclear power units to boost investment, and visited two major banks in Beijing to urge lower lending costs.
