Electricity prices cut for industry customers
China's top economic planner, the National Development and Reform Commission, cut coal-fired electricity prices on Monday. The price was reduced by 0.02 yuan ($0.003) per kilowatt-hour for grid companies and 0.018 yuan for enterprises, while household prices were left unchanged. The NDRC said the reduction would not only allow grid companies, who buy electricity from power generators and sell it to end users, to reduce prices for industry but also promote and offer subsidies for clean energy sources including solar and wind power.
