By Huang Mengxin | China Daily | Updated: 2015-04-20 09:47

Automechanika Shanghai, the world's second largest Automechanika trade fair for automotive parts, accessories, equipment and services, will take place in a new venue this year to accommodate for its growth.

The show will be held at the National Exhibition and Convention Center, in Puxi, Shanghai, from Dec 2 to 5.

Automechanika Shanghai has built up an international reputation as a major industry platform after years of dedication. Supporters from a number of key industry players and government and professional organizations are evidence of this, organizers said.

The show serves the whole industry chain of original equipment and aftermarket for the three major industry sectors: Parts and components, repair and maintenance and accessories and tuning, in terms of cultivating information exchange, marketing, trading and education purposes.

With expansion and across-the-board increases, Automechanika Shanghai 2015 will kick off in a new venue that has room for the growing fair.

Organizers said as well as the new site, new ideas, action plans and dynamic fast-paced development would be brought to the automotive parts, accessories, equipment and service field.

The 2015 show space will be 290,000 square meters, a 32 percent increase compared to 2014. The show is expecting 5,300 exhibitors from around the world, an 8 percent increase, and hopes to attract 100,000 global visitors, a 12 percent increase.

Organizers said the expansion and success of the exhibition was due to several factors.

The show's accessories and tuning sector is projected to swell to 52,600 sq m, a 42 percent increase, and the repair and maintenance sector is also expected to increase exponentially.

More local and overseas key brands are participating, with new major brands planning to join the show to take advantage of the Chinese market and expand their international portfolio.

Additionally, many previous attendants would like to increase their presence and brand recognition with expanded booths.

Organizers said international halls will include even more exhibitors and several overseas countries and regions will make their first appearance at Automechanika Shanghai.

More exhibitors from local production bases and highly promising second- and third-tier cities from Hunan, Sichuan, Jiangxi and Hebei are also expected.

To keep up with the latest technologies, the development of electronic and intelligent products will be showcased, as well as environmentally friendly products.

Last year the show offered 38 programs for learning, networking and information exchange. The learning and sharing culture is due to continue this year with educational programs and opportunities to network.

Since the show started in 2004, it has become a globally recognized industry event for generating business, brand building and networking, as well as information and technology exchange, education and marketing.

Messe Frankfurt (Shanghai) Co Ltd, a subsidiary of Messe Frankfurt Exhibition GmbH one of the world's leading trade fair organizers, and the China National Automotive Industry International Corporation organize the show. More than 50 trade associations and government agencies support the event.
