GLE 450 Sport AMG Coupe - The Best of Both Worlds

The GLE 450 Sport AMG Coup must be one of the mostly-anticipated Mercedes-Benz cars, and it took the stage in Shanghai just a year after making its concept debut at Auto China in Beijing.

The car represents a new type of vehicle for the automaker, one that melds two unique classes, each with its own distinct style.

The GLE Coup comes as a new addition to the automaker's SUV portfolio and brings the best of Mercedes-Benz coup and SUV vehicles while offering a fresh take on the venerable GLE-Class, known to customers as the ML.

The vehicle's rear end design shows the automaker's "modern luxury" concept, which borrows elements, such as a slim band of three-dimensional rear lights, from the S-Class Coup. The rounded rear window is also undeniably coup-esque, as are integrated twin tailpipe trim elements in the exhaust system.

Inside, the theme continues thanks to sports seats, a compact sports steering wheel and panoramic sunroof. Mercedes-Benz is also proud of the central console, whose information display is partially integrated into the instrument panel for added ergonomic convenience.

But no SUV or coup would be complete without strong performance and safety options, and in this regard, the GLE Coup towers over other vehicles in this segment.

GLE Coup is equipped with five transmission modes - INDIVIDUAL, COMFORT, SLIPPERY, SPORT and SPORT+ - which offer drivers the thrill of a coup to the versatility of an SUV. At the same time, the automaker's 4MATIC permanent all-wheel drive and 9G-TRONIC automatic transmission ensure stable and responsive handling.

Together, they ensure that the GLE Coup is more than just good looking, it is also the ultimate target for consumers in pursuit of dynamic driving.
