China Daily | Updated: 2015-04-20 09:44

With Auto Shanghai 2015 now officially underway, Mercedes-Benz arrived in China's economic powerhouse on Monday to showcase its latest product offensive. A total of 46 models, of which 15 are making their debut, took the stage, testifying to the automaker's ambitious plans for 2015, a year full of opportunities for China's auto industry.

According to the latest media reports, Mercedes-Benz posted 18 percent year-on-year growth in passenger car sales in the first quarter, outstanding performance compared with its competitors in the premiere auto market. Powering this success has been popular locally produced and new generation compact car families, which continue to attract new customers with an ever growing array of model options. This trend is expected to put the company in prime position as it works to sell more than 300,000 vehicles within this year.

Mercedes-Benz is not only focusing on introducing to Chinese customers superlative cars with automotive excellence, it is also making the future now and pursuing absolute speed. That's why variants of futuristic concept cars and the latest exhilarating models by AMG with excitingly-high performance are being introduced to explode in Chinese consumers' minds this spring.

Alternatively, for those wanting to keep low-profile exclusivity, there is also the perfect Mercedes-Benz that will cater to their unpretentious style, and also deeply understand their inmost sentiment to honor the world with generous reverence.

And, of course, there are tailor-made products for the Chinese market. Chinese consumers are always a priority and Mercedes-Benz's locally produced lineup are already challenging in the market, which all combine to show the commitment of the German premiere automaker to the Chinese market, and should make 2015 a fruitful year for the three-pointed star.

Interestingly enough, however, one of the biggest stars of the day won't launch in 2015. In fact, it might not even launch for another decade, if at all. But this hasn't stopped industry experts and car enthusiasts from raving about the latest brainchild of Mercedes-Benz- the F 015 Luxury in Motion.
