KG's return was a highlight, his finish a downer

February was winding down and the Minnesota Timberwolves were slogging through another terrible season, their worn out fan base's eyes glazing over as player after player was lost to injury.
Then, a 7-foot long adrenaline shot right to the heart. Kevin Garnett, the downtrodden franchise's alpha Wolf, was reacquired in a trade from Brooklyn after the AllStar break. Suddenly, these fans had something to cheer again after being tortured by 10 years of lousy basketball.
Garnett's first night back in a Timberwolves uniform was a glorious celebration in a city that has had far too little to celebrate. The Target Center came alive once again, shaking and roaring like it did in KG's glory days - the only good ones this franchise has ever known.
