By Zheng Jinran | China Daily | Updated: 2015-04-16 07:48

A sandstorm swept across a large part of North China on Wednesday with Beijing witnessing its strongest sand and dust weather in 13 years, according to Beijing Meteorological Bureau.

The sudden sandstorm that hit the capital on Wednesday afternoon quickly drove the concentration of airborne dust to its highest level of the day.

It was the seventh dust storm this year and will continue until Thursday afternoon, weather experts said.
