I practiced in facial plastic surgery for 29 years, but I never performed a maxillofacial procedure because of the risks involved and the strict requirements in terms of equipment. I believe that generally the quality of plastic surgery in China is better than in South Korea. Some people have blind faith in Korean techniques, but they are unable to gain access to the country's top clinics and so they end up in unlicensed clinics.

A set of national standards has been drawn up and is likely to be introduced soon.
