A study of Australian exercise routines has found that people need to workout vigorously enough to work up a sweat to reap any benefits.
A team from Queensland's James Cook University collected data from more than 200,000 Australians and the data found that people who worked up sustained sweats were 13 percent less likely to die prematurely than those who did moderate exercise such as walking.
Fairfax Media reported on Wednesday that study author Klaus Gebel also found that people could reduce their risk of early death by exercising vigorously for less than half an hour per week.
