Wind energy output to receive more impetus

China will accelerate development of wind energy in the central-eastern and southern regions to boost installed capacity in these areas to nearly 20 percent of the country's total wind energy, an announcement from the National Energy Administration said on Tuesday. Energy departments in northwestern, northeastern and northern China have been asked to promote heating technologies running on wind power and to boost pilot work on hydrogen production from wind power in Hebei and Jilin provinces.
