Giving up their lives for others
World War II and the destruction it inflicted triggered an alliance of medical teams across Europe. An International Committee for Aid to China was also set up. About 3,000 medical workers were deployed to Tuyunguan in Guizhou province. Of these, 64 died in the area and a monument for them has been erected.
