Armed man halted in office

Turkish police overpowered an armed man who stormed the ruling party's local branch in Istanbul, broke a top-floor window and shouted slogans on Wednesday, a day after a deadly hostage shootout. In that incident, two members of the banned left-wing group DHKP-C held a prosecutor hostage in an Istanbul courthouse. All three died in a gunbattle between the hostage-takers and police.
