Having been anxious for a dozen days in war-torn Yemen, Zhu Jianping arrived at Beijing Capital International Airport late on Tuesday after a flight of 11 hours, finally setting foot on his motherland once again and leaving the rumble of gunfire and bombs 7,000 kilometers behind.
Zhu was among the first group of 104 Chinese nationals evacuated from Yemen, all of whom had worked at CNBM Engineering's cement plant in the Yemeni city of Aden.
Security in the country at the southern end of the Arabian Peninsula has sharply deteriorated since early March, when conflicts erupted in southern Yemen.
